Sandblasting uses compressed air to through a high pressure stream of sand (abrasive material such as silica sand) to clean the equipment or surface or prepare a surface for painting or coating.
The measures should be taken to protect workers from hazardous dust and toxic metals that are generating from sandblasting.
Following should be checked before starting the sandblasting.
- Air Compressor
- Air Supply Hose
- Blast Machine
- Blast Abrasive
- Blast Hose
- Blast Couplings / Connectors
- Remote Control Handle
- Blast Nozzle
- Breathing Air Source
- Blasting Helmet
- PPE
- Work Hazards
